Skåne beverage became a success due to collaboration across borders

A successful collaboration between the industry and the academic world led to the dairy Skånemejerier’s success product, ProViva. "It is important to communicate across borders”, says Kenneth Andersson, head of research and development at Skånemejerier. Read more.

 

A world unique trainee programme

The whole industry is interested in attracting the best and most well-educated manpower. That is why our trainee programme is supported by the whole food industry of southern Sweden. The application period is now over and the programme will start in September. Read more.

New discoveries in health promoting food

Barely three years have past since the Antidiabetic Food Center opened at Lund University; its purpose is to achieve results that can help decrease the rising occurrence of diet related diseases. Today more than thirty experts are actively working to try and find new preventive diet concepts which can prevent metabolism syndromes. Read more.

More than 50 companies and organisations participated in this year's exhibition at Karma. Thanks to Anna Blücher, who is a lecturer and responsible for the nutrition and food science programme at the Linnæus University, Skåne Food Innovation Network was one of these companies. Read more.

There is a strong consumer interest in new and exciting foods. More and more of us also want to know what we are putting into our bodies actually does when it gets there. This trend has imposed new demands on the food sector and has opened the way for new research. Read more.

An obvious hub in the food cluster

The Skåne Food Innovation Network (SFIN) is an obvious hub in the food cluster of southern Sweden. Our assignment is to take advantage of this cluster’s unique resources for increasing the development power in the entire food sector. The goal is to fashion the world’s best food cluster. Read more.

Fine prize for school food project

SFIN’s project led by Margareta Schildt-Landgren demonstrated that it is possible to prepare food for schoolchildren based on locally produced raw materials even on a limited budget. Now Friends of School Meals have appointed Bladin’s school as “Star Restaurant.” Read more.
